It’s national LIPSTICK DAY! We gals love our lipstick, but sometimes it ends up in the hands of little ones, all over things we don’t want it to be on and seems impossible to get out. In honor of National Lipstick Day, I thought I’d help you out a little when the lipstick ends up where it shouldn’t!
1. HOW TO GET LIPSTICK OUT OF CARPET:
Make sure you do a small test of any method first, and if that doesn’t work, call your professional carpet cleaner before doing something that can’t be undone!
If you have kids, chances are, at some point now or in the future you will have lipstick on your carpet. It’s that quiet moment in time where your heart drops and you walk in and see your Favorite Purple Passion lipstick being used to very carefully create beautiful designs on your carpet! Have no fear, there are several methods to removing lipstick from your carpet!
- Clean ONE SQUARE CM AT A TIME. Dab on the alcohol with a clean rag (new piece each time) wrapped around a finger, make the carpet quite wet. This will dissolve the lipstick. Then BEFORE IT DRIES use another clean rag or cotton ball to soak up the solvent (the lipstick will come with it).

I have used lipstick to write messages in the mirror, but never on the wall. But I know lots of kiddos who have! Just like removing lipstick from the carpet, you have to be very patient and slow as there are several elements to lipstick. Here are a few great ways:

Maybe your little one has decorated his new shirt with your lipstick, or you dropped it when he tugged on your arm during application, “MOM…MOM…MOM”. What’s funny is that generally, ll the photos published of lipstick on clothing are of a beautifully puckered lip on a white collar. The only lipstick on clothing I’ve seen is the nasty smear!
